The Swartland Homeschool Group provides support to parents in the greater Swartland region who are homeschooling *their own* children. (See definition of homeschooling in the tab marked "What is homeschooling")
The group was started in December 2012 with only 3 or 4 participating families and have since grown to 50 families with just over 150 children.
We have parents from Porterville, Piketberg, Koringberg, Moorreesburg, Klipheuwel, Hopefield, Langebaan, Yzerfontein, Grotto, Darling, Malmesbury, Kalbaskraal, Philadelphia, Abbotsdale, Mamre, Riebeek Valley, Tulbagh, Ceres and everything in-between.
The aim of the group is to connect families, by providing fellowship and opportunities to socialize, go on outings and explore the different towns that make up our area as well as visiting businesses of interest and historical sites to learn in a group setting.
We are a diverse group, operating in both Afrikaans and English and we welcome anyone wanting to make friends or join us on outings.
If you would like to join the group or need help in deciding if homeschooling could work for your family, please don't hesitate to contact us!
You can email us swartlandhomeed (at) yahoo (dot) com or find us on Facebook, search for the group Swartland Homeschool Support.
We reserve the right to screen all applications to the support group as we try very hard to protect our families. Please be aware that you might have to answer questions upon request to join. Check all 3 your Facebook inboxes if your request to join isn't approved within 24 hours!
