On 13 March 2017 a group of young Swartland Homeschoolers joined a few homeschoolers from the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town to have a lovely morning learning and discovering at the Rosen Castle Activity Center at Curro Tygervalley.
The children were split into groups and taken through the activities. They went shopping at the mini Checkers where they pretended to shop, be the cashier and pack the bags as well as restock the shelves.
At the mini Capitec they opened an account and drew money and took turns working at the bank.
They pretended to be a vet and helped to heal the sick "animals" as well as shop for their pets and work behind the counter of the vet's practice.
In the kitchen each child got the opportunity to make their own snack which they got to take home.
The ladies who facilitated
the children were amazing and the moms and younger siblings chatted and played outside. It was a wonderful experience for those who took part and the children couldn't stop chatting about everything they saw, experienced and did!
